Important Terms

- factor
- a number that when multiplied with another produces a given number. For example, 6
\(\times\)
5 = 30, 5 and 6 are factors of 30.
- multiple
- a number that can be divided by another number without a remainder. For example 30 is a multiple of 10, 30
\(\div\)
10 = 3 with no remainder.
- Greatest Common Factor
- the largest number that can divide evenly into two other numbers. For example the Greatest Common Factor of 10 and 15 is 5.
- Least Common Multiple
- the lowest number that is a multiple of two numbers. For example, 12 is the Least Common Multiple of 3 and 4.
