Important Terms #

factor
a number that when multiplied with another produces a given number. For example, 6 \(\times\) 5 = 30, 5 and 6 are factors of 30.
multiple
a number that can be divided by another number without a remainder. For example 30 is a multiple of 10, 30 \(\div\) 10 = 3 with no remainder.
Greatest Common Factor
the largest number that can divide evenly into two other numbers. For example the Greatest Common Factor of 10 and 15 is 5.
Least Common Multiple
the lowest number that is a multiple of two numbers. For example, 12 is the Least Common Multiple of 3 and 4.
